Workshop — Supersede a Primitive

Run two supersessions by hand on the Valkey already listening on :6390 — a topic re-landed on a stream group, a cron re-minted as Repeat — then declare the one primitive the bus does not replace.

Vision · real substrate

echd speaks in the present tense over a build ladder. Every module, verb, key, and port named on this page is real; the composition into one standing platform is the vision the ladder builds.

The module

The chapter has made three claims: PubSub becomes a stream, cron becomes a scheduler, task queues become claims. A workshop is where a claim stops being a diagram and becomes a thing you run. This module re-lands an Encore topic on a real consumer group, re-mints an Encore cron as a real EchoMQ.Repeat, and does both on the Valkey that is already listening on :6390 — the same commands the platform uses, typed by hand. Two supersessions, proven on the machine in front of you.

Then it does the move that makes the register trustworthy: it declares the gap. Two of the chapter's primitives are superseded and you will have run them; the third — secrets — is not, and the workshop says so plainly, in amber. The nearest owned ground for secrets is config-distribution, latest-value-per-key reads on the stream tier, and the workshop is careful to name that as config, not secrets. Supersede what is superseded, run it to prove it, and mark the one boundary you do not cross.

Re-land a topic. An Encore PubSub topic is a name you publish to; here it is a stream you XADD to, and a subscription is a consumer group you XREADGROUP from. On Valkey at :6390: publish three events, read them from a group in two consumers, watch each go to exactly one — then replay them, which PubSub cannot.
Re-mint a cron. An Encore cron fires a function on a timer; here you register EchoMQ.Repeat and each occurrence is a fresh branded JOB the Pump promotes on the server's clock. Watch two occurrences mint as two distinct ids, each retryable on its own — the tick becomes a trackable job.
Declare the gap. Not everything is superseded, and the workshop ends by saying which: secrets stay platform-native. The nearest owned ground is config-distribution — latest-value-per-key reads on the stream tier — and that is config, not secrets. Naming the gap out loud is the last move, and it is what keeps the other two honest.
